Praying the Rosary Made Simple – for Children and Adults!

rosary prayer ring

UPDATE: The Rosary Prayer Ring is now available in Spanish!

Praying the rosary as a family.  What a daunting thought for most parents!

As I have worked with families, I have learned that many parents remember praying the rosary but have forgotten how to pray it so they can’t pass it on to their children.  This prayer ring for the rosary is easy and fun for children and includes all needed prayers so parents can feel comfortable leading their children in the rosary.

Includes the Mysteries of the Rosary

1. There are 3 options for printing the rosary prayer ring.

Option #1: Print it in color on white cardstock

  • English — PDF for print in color
  • Spanish — PDF for print in color

Option #2: Print with black ink on white cardstock (and let your children color it)

  • English — PDF for ready to color
  • Spanish — PDF for ready to color

Option #3: Print on colored cardstock .  (In this option, when there is room on the page, I put more than one copy of the prayer.  This makes it easy to make copies for a class with less wasted paper.)

  • English — PDF for print on colored cardstock
  • Spanish — PDF for print on colored cardstock

Can print on white cardstock or colored cardstock.

When I teach about the rosary, I like to leave time to pray at least a couple of decades of the rosary so they learn how the prayer ring works.   To color and cut out the prayer ring takes a lot of time.  Printing the prayer ring in color is not an option for me because the parish copier does not print in color.  So, I buy lots of bright colors of cardstock to print the prayer ring on!  This makes the prayer ring bright and colorful and still leaves time for us to pray a couple of decades of the rosary.

All the prayers needed to make one prayer ring printed on colored cardstock.
When working with a group of people, paper clipping together all the prayers for one prayer ring saves a lot of class time.

2. Cut out all the shapes.

3. Punch a hole where the small circle is in all the shapes.

4. Using a 1” binder ring, put the prayers on the ring in order.  (Each prayer is numbered.)  You could also use a twist tie or piece of a pipe cleaner to hold the prayers together.

And you are ready to pray the rosary!

(Note:  The leader prays the regular type and everyone else joins in on the bold type.)

These are wonderful! I’m teaching first and second graders, and having each prayer on its own card, the colors, the bolded print, it all makes it that much easier for them to understand the process! Thank you!

My son is so excited to get to color his own. I have some extra laminating paper, so am planning to laminate the set, which I know will take a bit of time. I’m hoping it will be a good option with toddler brother around though. Thank you so much for making this resource for everyone!!! It’s fun and EXACTLY what I was looking for (currently at the end of our first homeschooling week, courtesy of COVID-19).
