This is a hat to wear and a fun way to learn about Peter walking on water. Slide Peter towards Jesus and he “sinks” into the water!
First, print the PDF on white cardstock.
Color the boat scene and one of the Peter figures.
For each hat, cut out a boat scene, one Peter figure, two tabs for Peter, and two headband pieces.
Carefully make a hole where each black circle is. I make the hole using the point of my scissors.
Cut out the two thick black lines, trying to keep the edges smooth. Smooth edges make it easier to slide Peter.
Fold 1/4 inch from one end of each tab. Put glue on the 1/4 inch that was folded.
Glue the tabs to Peter. The top tab lines up with Peter’s elbows. The bottom tab goes near the bottom of Peter.
When the tabs are dried, put the tabs through the slits in the water scene, with the tabs being on the back side.
Tape the tabs together.
Tuck Peter’s feet into the bottom slit.
Tape the headband pieces to the water scene. Put tape on the front and the back so that the headband stays in place.
Fit the hat to the child’s head and tape the headband pieces together.
Your hat is now ready to wear and play with! Make Peter sink into the water by sliding him from the boat to Jesus.
