Note: If you are looking for a booklet on the parts of the Mass, go to the post “Come Celebrate! The Mass in Pictures.”
We teach our children the names of many things, including Disney princesses and dinosaurs (those really long names!). But I know I didn’t think to teach my children the names of items in a Catholic church or items used at Mass.
“I Found it! Pictures and Names of Items Found in a Catholic Church” contains pictures and names of 28 items you can find in a Catholic Church. Children can look at the picture, learn its name, and find the item in church. Items include chalice,
priest, chasuble, ambo and 24 more items!
This booklet can be printed in black and white OR color.
You can print, cut, and slide the pages into a photo album for 4″ x 6″ pictures (I used one that holds 36 photos) OR print, cut, punch holes and make into a booklet. For an idea on how to make a cover for the booklet, see the post on prayer rings.
Update: Last year I was working with another parish and some of the items in their church looked very different from the ones I had pictures of. I made a new set of cards with pictures that reflect their church. I am calling them “pictures option #2”. Choose the ones that work best for you!
